EVALUATION OF THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF AIR HANDLING UNIT MODEL BOX
Air handling units (AHUs) are key components of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Ensuring optimal thermal performance of an AHU is essential for energy-efficient operation, reduced operating costs, and achieving top energy efficiency ratings. Key thermal characteristics, such are the thermal transmittance coefficient and thermal bridging factor, can be evaluated at the early stages of development by using model boxes of AHUs. Calculation of the thermal bridging factor relies on surface temperature measurements of the model box. Traditional methods involve contact temperature measurements, which are time-consuming due to the large number of required points. Infrared (IR) thermography provides a faster and more comprehensive approach to capturing the temperature distribution over the entire surface of the model box. Furthermore, IR thermography facilitates the detection of zones with increased air leakage, which can negatively impact the AHU thermal performance. This paper outlines the procedure for performing thermographic testing on AHU model boxes, complementing the thermal performance testing according the HRN EN 1886:2008 standard.
CV
He was born on 28 June 1992 in Zagreb. He graduated in 2016 from the undergraduate and 2017 from the graduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb (FSB). In addition, in the academic year 2017/2018 he started his postgraduate studies in the field of Process and Energy Technology at the FSB. Since March 2018, he has been working at the FSB's Department of Thermal and Process Engineering. For his success in the undergraduate part of his studies, he was awarded with a commendation (Cum laude) and for his success in the graduate part of his studies, he was awarded with the highest commendation (Summa cum laude) and the FSB Medal for outstanding success in his studies, while for his excellent success in his entire studies, he also received the award of the Croatian Energy Society and the Hrvoje Požar Foundation. He is an active member of the FSB Rowing Club.

POREDBENA ISKUSTVA U REGULACIJI TEHNOLOGIJE POLUSAMOVOZEĆIH SUSTAVA U MOTORNIM VOZILIMA
